Message From The Foundation's Board of Trustees

For more than two decades, the Foundation for Workforce Mobility has stood as a beacon of generosity within our industry. Together, we have rallied around a shared mission: to energize the global mobility community through charitable giving and to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those touched by relocation.

Over the last 20+ years together we have raised over $200,000 for scholarships, and $1.25M for charity. Thanks to your unwavering support, the Foundation has funded scholarships for students navigating the challenges of relocation, provided critical assistance to families experiencing homelessness, and championed programs that foster equity and opportunity. These efforts have not only changed lives—they have defined what it means to be part of a community that cares.

Equally important, these initiatives have created opportunities for WERC members to come together throughout the year—not just as professionals, but as colleagues united by charitable hearts. Through hallmark events like the Foundation Walk, the Foundation Gala, and our beloved Party with Purpose, we have built connections, celebrated generosity, and strengthened the bonds that make our industry unique. This spirit of community is an essential part of the Foundation’s legacy.

Today, we write with both gratitude and candor. After careful consideration and due diligence, the Foundation’s Board of Trustees has made the difficult decision to wind up and dissolve the organization. Shifting trends in our industry, evolving operational and partnership dynamics have made sustaining the Foundation in its current form no longer viable.

This decision, however, does not mark an end to our shared commitment to giving—it marks a pivot toward new possibilities. In keeping with our mission and values, the Foundation will distribute its remaining funds to organizations that reflect the heart of our charitable legacy:

  • Family Promise, a national nonprofit dedicated to ending family homelessness through community-based solutions which has been supported by our community for nearly a decade.
  • Upward Mobility, a unique industry-wide program that has been developed to provide underserved students with access to formative work experiences with industry-leading organizations in the field of employee mobility. At the same time, it creates a talent pipeline of smart, motivated students through internships and brings a far greater breadth of thought, perspective, and experience that is needed by mobility employers to ensure our continued shared success.
  • Elevate+ (Elevate to Even Plus), which levels the playing field for underserved youth by providing paid internships and professional development opportunities that open doors to long-term success. We will be providing this organization with a stipend to fund the 2026 Regional Relocation Council Scholarship Matching Program,  which supports high school students whose lives have been shaped by relocation, helping them pursue higher education and brighter futures.
(*Regional Groups will receive further communication specific to the scholarship program*)

These organizations have all been part of our story before, and now they will carry forward the spirit of giving that you helped create.

As we close this chapter, we invite you to reimagine the future of charitable engagement within our industry. The global mobility community will continue to come together throughout the year to support causes that matter, just as we always have.

On behalf of the Foundation’s Board and the countless lives touched by your generosity, thank you. Your contributions have built a legacy that will endure and inspire well beyond this transition.

With gratitude and optimism,

Foundation for Workforce Mobility
